What tirzepatide is

Tirzepatide is a synthetic peptide of 39 amino acids. Its sequence is built on the native GIP (glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide) backbone and modified so that it also activates the GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1) receptor. That makes it a dual GIP and GLP-1 receptor agonist, sometimes called a "twincretin", because GIP and GLP-1 are the two incretin hormones the gut releases after a meal.

A C20 fatty diacid side chain, attached through a linker, lets the molecule bind to albumin in circulation. In pharmacology studies this albumin binding is what gives tirzepatide its long half-life compared with the native hormones, which are cleared within minutes. Receptor studies describe it as an "imbalanced" agonist: it acts on the GIP receptor with an affinity similar to native GIP, and on the GLP-1 receptor more weakly than native GLP-1.

Tirzepatide was developed by Eli Lilly and Company. It is the active ingredient of two prescription medicines, which our tirzepatide vs Mounjaro guide explains. On this site, tirzepatide is sold only as lyophilised research material.

What the research looked at

Incretin receptors sit on pancreatic beta cells, in the brain, in adipose tissue and elsewhere. Laboratory work on tirzepatide asks how activating both receptors at once compares with activating GLP-1 receptors alone. It has been studied in controlled models involving insulin secretion, glucagon suppression, gastric emptying and energy balance.

The clinical programme is large and well published. Two trial families are the ones most often cited:

  • SURPASS: a series of phase 3 trials in adults with type 2 diabetes. Endpoints centred on HbA1c (a long-term blood glucose marker). SURPASS-2, published in the New England Journal of Medicine in 2021, compared tirzepatide with semaglutide, a GLP-1-only agonist.
  • SURMOUNT: phase 3 trials in adults with obesity or overweight, with and without type 2 diabetes. SURMOUNT-1, published in the same journal in 2022, reported body-weight endpoints over 72 weeks against placebo.

Both programmes also recorded adverse events. Gastrointestinal events such as nausea were the most commonly reported in these trials. Anyone researching the compound should read the full papers, including the safety tables, rather than summaries. The references are listed at the end of this guide.

These are findings from controlled clinical trials run under medical supervision. They describe what was measured in those trial populations; they are not a description of what any product sold on this site will do.

How research tirzepatide is supplied

Research peptides are normally supplied as a lyophilised (freeze-dried) powder in a sealed glass vial. Freeze-drying removes water so the peptide stays stable during storage and transport. The label states the compound and the amount of peptide in the vial in milligrams.

Friday stocks tirzepatide in 10mg (฿1,890) and 20mg (฿3,460) vials. The strength is the total peptide content of the vial, which is how a lab compares material from one batch or supplier with another. You can see both sizes on the tirzepatide product page.

Lyophilised peptides are reconstituted in a lab before analysis or experimental work. Laboratories commonly use bacteriostatic water, a sterile water containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol, as the solvent. Friday sells it separately as bacteriostatic water, together with other lab supplies. Protocols for reconstitution belong to the research setting and are outside the scope of this guide.

Purity and certificates of analysis

The most useful document for any research peptide is its certificate of analysis (COA) from an independent lab. A credible COA names the testing lab, the client, the sample and batch, and the date. It reports at least two things:

  • Identity: usually mass spectrometry, confirming the molecule in the vial has the expected mass.
  • Purity and content: usually HPLC, showing the share of the sample that is the target peptide, and how many milligrams the vial actually holds.

Some reports add endotoxin or heavy-metal testing. Be wary of a COA with no batch number, no lab name or a date that predates the product. Every vial Friday stocks is lab-tested by batch. If you want to see the report for a batch, message us before you order.

Storage

Lyophilised tirzepatide is a dry powder and is far more stable than a solution. General laboratory practice for peptides of this kind:

  • Keep sealed vials refrigerated (2-8 °C) after delivery, away from light and moisture.
  • For storage over several months, many labs keep sealed vials frozen.
  • Avoid repeated warming and cooling, and leave a cold vial to reach room temperature before opening so condensation does not form inside.
  • Once a peptide is reconstituted, it is far less stable; labs keep solutions refrigerated and use them within a short window.

Freeze-dried peptides generally tolerate a few days at room temperature, which is why they travel by normal courier. Put the vial in the fridge when it arrives.

Buying tirzepatide from Friday

Friday is a small research peptide shop in Bangkok for English-speaking buyers. Tirzepatide is listed from ฿1,890, with the price for each vial strength shown on the product page. Orders are packed in Bangkok and leave with tracking the next working day, to any address in Thailand. Delivery is a flat ฿60, prices are in Thai baht, and payment is by bank transfer with a slip that our team confirms before dispatch.

We sell to adults aged 20 and over, for research use only. Every buyer accepts our research-use terms at checkout. Our team replies on Telegram and WhatsApp for questions about stock, batches or an order, but cannot give medical or personal-use advice. You can browse every compound on the shop, or read how tirzepatide compares with a newer triple agonist in retatrutide vs tirzepatide.

Questions

What kind of molecule is tirzepatide?

Tirzepatide is a 39-amino-acid synthetic peptide that activates both the GIP and GLP-1 receptors, the two incretin hormone receptors. It carries a fatty diacid side chain that binds albumin, which extends its half-life in pharmacology studies.

Which clinical trials studied tirzepatide?

The best-known programmes are SURPASS, in adults with type 2 diabetes, and SURMOUNT, in adults with obesity or overweight. Key results were published in the New England Journal of Medicine in 2021 and 2022.

What strengths does Friday stock?

Friday stocks tirzepatide as lyophilised powder in sealed vials, in 10mg (฿1,890) and 20mg (฿3,460) vials. The strength is the total peptide content of the vial.

How is it delivered in Thailand?

Orders are dispatched the next working day with tracking, to any address in Thailand, for a flat ฿60. Delivery time depends on your area and the courier.

Is Friday's tirzepatide a medicine?

No. Friday sells tirzepatide only as research material for laboratory, educational and analytical work. It is not a medicine, not for human or animal consumption, and not for therapeutic or diagnostic use.
