BPC-157 in Thailand
What BPC-157 is, what the mostly animal research has looked at, its regulatory and sport status, and how Friday supplies it for research.
What is BPC-157?
Short answer: BPC-157 (body protection compound 157) is a synthetic peptide of 15 amino acids, a fragment of a protein first described in gastric juice. Almost all published work on it comes from cell and animal models of tissue repair; human data are very limited. It is not an approved medicine in Thailand or, as far as we know, anywhere else. Friday sells it as research material at ฿2,140.
Its sequence is Gly-Glu-Pro-Pro-Pro-Gly-Lys-Pro-Ala-Asp-Asp-Ala-Gly-Leu-Val. Much of the early research came from one group at the University of Zagreb, which reported the peptide as unusually stable in gastric juice. That stability is one reason it has been studied by several routes in animal models.
What has BPC-157 been studied for?
Published studies, mostly in rats and mice, have looked at BPC-157 in controlled models involving:
- tendon, ligament, muscle and bone repair after experimental injury;
- the lining of the stomach and intestine;
- angiogenesis, the growth of new blood vessels;
- the nitric oxide system and blood vessel tone.
A 2019 review in Cell and Tissue Research summarised the musculoskeletal soft-tissue work and concluded that the animal findings were consistent but that controlled human trials were missing. That is still the main caveat: results in rodents do not tell you what happens in people.
Is there human research on BPC-157?
Very little. A handful of small pilot studies and case series have been published, and some trial registrations exist, but we are not aware of any large randomised controlled trial reporting results. Check ClinicalTrials.gov for the current list. Anyone reading claims about BPC-157 online should ask which species, which model and which paper each claim comes from.
Is BPC-157 legal in Thailand?
BPC-157 is not a registered medicine in Thailand, so it cannot lawfully be sold or advertised as a medicine. Friday sells it only as research material for laboratory work, to adults 20+ who accept our research-use terms. This is general information, not legal advice.
In sport, the World Anti-Doping Agency has listed BPC-157 under S0, non-approved substances, since 2022. S0 substances are prohibited at all times, in and out of competition. In the United States, BPC-157 is not an approved drug and cannot be sold as a dietary supplement.
How does BPC-157 compare with TB-500?
| BPC-157 | TB-500 | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | 15-amino-acid fragment of a gastric protein | Synthetic peptide based on thymosin beta-4, a 43-amino-acid actin-binding protein |
| Main research areas | Tendon, muscle, gut lining, angiogenesis (animal models) | Cell migration, actin dynamics, wound models |
| Human data | Very limited | Limited; thymosin beta-4 itself has had small clinical studies |
| WADA status | Prohibited (S0) | Prohibited (thymosin beta-4 and its derivatives) |
| Friday vial | 10mg (฿2,140) vial | 10mg (฿2,040) vial |
The two are often researched side by side, which is why Friday also stocks a TB-500 + BPC-157 blend in 10mg (฿1,490) vial.
How is research BPC-157 supplied and stored?
Friday stocks BPC-157 as a lyophilised powder in a sealed, labelled glass vial (10mg (฿2,140) vial). Third-party tested. Keep sealed vials refrigerated at 2-8 °C, dry and out of light, or frozen for long-term storage. Laboratories reconstitute it with a sterile solvent such as bacteriostatic water; our reconstitution guide covers lab handling.
